An Advanced Course on Result-based Monitoring & Evaluation

Introduction | Adhyeta International (AI) and ISAS, Nepal are offering a 5-day training course on Results-based Monitoring and Evaluation. As a regular training course, this is the third time AI and ISAS are offering this training. First time we organized the program in Thailand, second time we organized the program in Pokhara, Nepal and now we are organizing the program in Kathmandu, Nepal. M&E has become common practice of civil society organizations, international development agencies and NGOs to manage their projects and programmes effectively. This training course addresses M&E with a view to results on thematic area. The participants will therefore learn the basic principles of the results-based M&E including project planning and designing and will understand how to design a results-based M&E system. The course will further introduce a variety of templates to manage the monitoring and its linkage with log frame. The participants will learn a wide range of approaches and instruments for recording and analyzing data. By the end of this course, the participants will be equipped with enhanced designing and management tools to monitor and evaluate projects more adequately to meet the needs of the beneficiaries of different projects/programs. The course builds up a clear body of theory, understanding and skills for each step in the process, so that by the end of the course participants will have a clear competence across all stages of the results-based M&E and project planning and designing. |
Course Objectives | To enhance participants understanding on M&E theory, concepts, methods and tools. To enable participants develop knowledge and skills to monitor and evaluate different programs/projects. To train participants on how to assess outputs and outcomes from available data in making better management decisions. To enable participants on program planning and designing (PPD). |
Target Group | Working professionals, scholars, teachers, post graduate students, NGO and social workers and anyone else with a keen interest in approaching M & E and project planning and management creatively. Expected Outcomes | Improved understanding on M&E theory, concepts, methods and tools among participants Increased knowledge and skills of participants to monitor and evaluate projects/programs. Increased motivation of program/project professionals to use outputs and outcomes (aggregate reports) from available data in making better management decision Improved understanding on project/program designing, planning and implementation for better results. |
